Question: I stained my favorite shirt with tomato sauce. After washer stain did not come out completely. Now what do I do?

"Whenever you have a food stain on clothing, it is best to pre-spot with the clothes detergent being used (assuming the clothing item is machine washable). Formulated pre-spotters can also work. Depending on the stain and fabric type, pre-spotting with a mild solution of oxygen bleach can also work well. Never wash the item in hot water and definitely DO NOT send it through the dryer. Heat can cause the stain to set up and bake into the fabric. Once set up, the stain is virtually impossible to remove without fabric damage. After washing the pre-spotted item, look to see if the spot has been removed. If not, pre-spot again and rewash. Never put the item in the dryer until the spot is no longer visible.
